Beechwood Restaurant / Bar
I realized we have a whole category dedicated to our conversations at Beechwood here on TotalBollix.com but have yet to ever describe the place. Beechwood or as we call it our seond office, is a tantalizing place of hidden wonder.
What really sets this place apart from others is the outside patio area that surrounds a blue flame firepit. The seats at the firepit are hard to come by so stake them out early, but always leave David and I one available. You can honestly just sit there for hours and become vegetable like sipping on a drink.
Secondly, another staple in all of Beechwood’s glory is their food. Their sweet potatoe fries deserve an award, in fact, I will give them the award of Jesse’s Best Sweet Potatoe Fries. A whopping plate of crisply deliciousness with a perfect mixture of sweet and salty that comes along with 3 dipping pleasures, some kind of garlic aioli kind of sauce, a ketchup that I think is mixed with tobassco, and a light barbecue type sauce. These have become a part of my daily diet for the last year and I am still madly in love with them.
Besides the fries, dinner at Beechwood is a beautiful thing as well. The marinated skirt steak ordered rare is a flavorfilled joyous occasion of terriyaki likeness. The New York steak ordered rare as well will satisfy your love of meat. (Comes with a side of cheesy chunky mashed potatoes!) For the health nuts, like me, who work out regularly, you can order the pulled chicken burrito without the burrito and sauce on the side; resulting in a mixture of seasoned rice, black beans and chicken with sides of fresh guacamole and just a tinge sweet chocolate mole sauce. Simply, I have yet to choose anything on this menu and regret it, especially with the menu changing every season.
Lastly, the ambience of Beechwood is something I will keep coming back for. The people are good looking, friendly and laid back. The waitresses are some of the best I’ve ever had. Long live our second office.
