While I respect cultures and different cultures, I get really frustrated when westerners quote sayings (often way out of context) from other cultures as if they were great pearls of wisdom that could change the world. Its almost treated the same way as horoscope's and religion in terms of lack of relevance. I watched "The Interpreter" last night and couldn't help thinking as they were quoting little sayings from Africa -- "well of course all of that wisdom has really done that continent well over the last few hundred years." Maybe I am just too cynical...

It is the conflict between the exponents of might and the exponents of right – between those who think that might makes right and that justice is expediency, and those who think that power can be wrongly as well as rightly exercised and that justice, the measure of men and states, cannot be measured by utility.

I do not believe that Karma answers well enough the questions of pain, the questions of why bad things happen to good people, why there is injustice. While the modern man uses terms like “highly evolved” and “karma” we have avoided the much larger and significantly more difficult subjects of Justice & Pain.

Some dude once said, “The greatest lie a man can tell is the one he tells himself and believes.” It is yet to be determined if we are lying to ourselves in some conceited form, or merely carrying forward the art of deep conversation. Either way, we are never afraid to ask questions about:

  1. Living life - we think its more than just making a “B” but are not sure…
  2. Love and yeah the observation of it crushing and wounding people
  3. Religion, God, justice, free will etc
  4. Philosophy, culture, emotions and time (ok because they all fit together so well)
  5. Quantum Physics which is actually really philosophy
  6. If the waitress buying shots likes us, is a great sales rep or has the shot covered by management as a ploy to get us to spend more?
  7. Pondering the concept of meeting a great employee at the same place where the exotic dancer was dancing, (more likely paying for her ‘habits’ than education)… oh and apparently we pissed all the girls off by talking about physics and turning down a 2 for 1 offer.

Most of what we talk about is based on the observations of our own lives, which has followed rather unusual pathways in and of themselves and the remarkable and unique people we have had the opportunity to meet…

Some of our first key observations are:

1. This generation is addicted to drama.

2. "Cool" is merely the packaging of this generation rebelling against the contradiction of the immediately preceding generation, and thereby creating their own set of contradictions that will ensure the cycle continues... and so on and so forth.

3. Is Eminem the greatest philosopher of our age? They say people likes him becuase she says what he thinks, but he says that he doesn't believe what he says does that mean he doesn't believe what he thinks?

The different thoughts, capabilities and factual paradoxes that exist in life which we clearly seem to understand since we carry on with life with that gung-ho attitude are just some of the things we will attempt to discuss.

To try and describe this site in a short synopsis would not do it justice as it was conceived over a period of months, of drunken stupor and intelligent slurring.  From times of psycho analyzing whether the waitress liked us because of our generous tips or did she really like us?  (This thought ended in complete bollix, to this day, I still can't figure out this one) To times of finishing an Nth glass of jack daniels and diet, discussing the existence of time in quantum theory while an exotic dancer pays for her schooling on stage.

Our thoughts ramble, drive, and never stop which led us to the decision to document them.

Laugh, cry, educate, complain...you'll never hear another two guy's speak so much about so much they think they know. ( does thinking to know constitute for knowing or is it possible to know what you think you dont know? aiyaiyai )

-Jesse
